Marques "The GameChanger" Flowers

A native of Madison, Wisconsin by way of Chicago, Marques' sports fandom, can best be described as complicated.  With birthplace rooting rights to Chicago teams, and residency rooting rights to WI teams, Marques has chosen to go refrain from claiming a "favorite" sports team in those two states, and pledge his unwavering support to the Georgetown Hoyas Basketball program.  A rabid follower of all things basketball, Marques' alias of "The Gamechanger" stems a behavior displayed as a teenager, when he was known for literally changing video games when he found an opponent who he could not defeat. He would then change games until he found one in which he could beat the opponent.  Marques played four years of college basketball at Wisconsin's Beloit College (Division 3), where he was a 2x all-conference selection.  Marques is an original "RSG" member serving as the QB for the podcast, and providing creative input on the formatting of the shows.  Marques also serves as the Co-host of RSG's Hip Hop & Sports theme show titled "Hustle & Flows", which launched in late 2015. Here are some of Marques' favorites:

  • Marques' All Time Favorite Athletes and Coaches: Muhammad Ali, Dominique Wilkins, Allen Iverson, Tracy McGrady, Willie "Flipper" Anderson, Randall Cunningham, John Thompson, Shaka Smart, Geno Auriemma, Gregg Popovich, Bo Jackson, Frank Thomas, Serena Williams, Elena Della Donne, & Mya Moore
  • Marques' All Time Favorite Teams: 1989 & 1996 Georgetown Hoyas Basketball, 2011 VCU Rams Basketball, 1991 Philadelphia Eagles, 1989 L.A. Rams, and the 2008, 2014, 2015 Wisconsin Badgers Basketball squads.
  • Marques' Top 5 NBA Players EVER: 1. Michael Jordan, 2.  Wilt Chamberlain, 3.  Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, 4.  Magic Johnson, 5.  Larry Bird
  • Marques' Top 5 HIp-Hop Albums: 1. OutKast "Aquemini", 2. Kendrick Lamar "To Pimp A Butterfly", 3.  Jay-Z "The Blueprint", 4. Nas "Illmatic", 5. Notorious B.I.G. Ready to Die

Phil "Phil T: Sports PhD" Thompson

Originally from Kalamazoo, Michigan, Phil is a true BLUE fan of Michigan teams (Wolverines, Pistons, and Lions) with the lone exception being the New York Yankees! Referred to as “Phil T: Sports PhD” because he is a currently working towards a PhD degree, Phil played Small College football in Wisconsin, becoming only the 3rdfreshman in school history to lead his team in quarterback sacks. Phil joined the RSG family in May 2011 and has become a fixture in the “Illustrious 3-Man” booth while simultaneously booking guests to appear on the RSG Network of shows.  Here are a few of Phil's Favorites:

  • Phil's All-Time Favorite Athletes:  Derek Jeter, Scottie Pippen, John D. Thompson, Mariano Rivera, EJ Conway, Chris Conway, and NBA 2K – Sega Dreamcast **
  • Phil's All-Time Favorite Teams:  The Fab Five (1991-1993 Michigan Wolverine Men's Basketball), 1986-1990 Detroit “Bad Boys” Pistons, 1996 & 1998 Yankees, 1989-91 UNLV Runnin’ Rebels, and the 1989 Chicago Cubs

Sekou Bermiss

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Sekou is an unrepentant fanatic of the New York Knickerbockers, the New York Football Giants, and & The Brox Bombers. As a child he dreamed of playing basketball at Georgetown under John Thompson. Then he stopped growing in the 9th grade, and had to recalibrate his focus on academics. He played Division III basketball at Rensselaer Polytechnic Instittute (NY) and is now a professor at the University of Texas.
