Former UCLA student-athlete and current President of the National College Players Association (NCPA), Ramogi Huma joined RSG to discuss the state of college athletics on our March 20th show. Founded by Huma, the NCPA, which consists of 14,000 current or former student athletes, allows college athletes to voice their concerns and change NCAA rules. The NCPA and Huma have been featured in many media outlets such as 60 Minutes, CNN, ESPN's Outside the Lines, Sports Illustrated, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and the Chronicle of Higher Education. Jonah Keri, author of New York Times Best Seller, The Extra 2% was a recent featured guest on Real Sports Guys Radio as part of our new RSG Baseball show (Inside the Park) led by RJ Page, Michael Behling, & Hank Davis. Jonah has written for publications including ESPN.com, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and GQ. The Extra 2% outlines how the Tampa Bay Devil Rays organization used Wall Street strategies to rise from being the worst team in baseball to reaching the 2008 World Series with a limited payroll. The Honorable Dr. Alan C. Page was recently a featured guest of the Real Sports Guys. After an All-American/National Championship (1966) football career at Notre Dame and a Hall of Fame NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings, which included 4 trips to the Super Bowl, Justice Page has served as an Associate Justice with the Minnesota Supreme Court since 1993. A nine-time Pro Bowler, six-time 1st Team All-Pro Selection, and a Multiple NFL Defensive Player of the Year, he also was the NFL MVP in 1971. While still an All-Pro NFL Player, Justice Page earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1978. In 1988, Page and his wife Diane, founded the Page Education Foundation which provides financial and mentoring assistance to students of color as a reward to their volunteer service in the community. The Page Education Foundation has awarded grants to nearly 5,000 students. Justice Page has received nine Honorary Doctorate Degrees from institutions such as Duke University, University of Notre Dame, Gustavus Adolphus College, and University of New Haven which is the home of his college teammate and frequent Real Sports Guys visitor Dr. Allen Sack (featured below).
